Services
will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, December 21, 2009 at Moore Funeral
Chapel in Hattiesburg for James “J.J.” Johnson, 71, of Hattiesburg, who died
December 18 at his home. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
Mr. Johnson retired after
15 years with the U.S. Post Office and he retired from U.S. Navy. He was a member
of Enlisted Retirement Association, Lincoln Road Baptist Church ,
DAV (sub vets) and VFW and USS VI NC Tullibee Base.
He was preceded in death by parents, Raymond and Iva
Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Jocelyn "Jo" Johnson
of Hattiesburg; son, John "Tim" Fillingame of Petal; sisters, Shirley
Kirk of Durant, IO and Judy Mason of Moline , IL; brothers, Larry Cozine
of Adelboro , MA and Gary Cozine of New York; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5:30 - 8 p.m. Sunday at
Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg.
