Rayford "Odell" Lumpkin, Sr., of Carnes died Sunday, January 10, 2010 at Forrest General Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sand Hill Baptist Church followed by burial in Bounds Cemetery.
Mr. Lumpkin, a former longtime resident of Gulfport, worked at Colonial Bakery, Diamond M. Drilling Company and Coast Transit, where he retired.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Viola Lumpkin; a brother, Garland Lumpkin; a sister, Peggy Freret; and two sons, Rayford O. Lumpkin, Jr. and Paul David Lumpkin.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 59 years, Ruby L. Lumpkin; daughters, Barbara Baranowski and Donna Lumpkin; son, Travis (Janice) Lumpkin; a brother, Kenneth Lumpkin; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday at Moore Funeral Home in Wiggins.
