Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church for Thomas "T.J." Marks Sr., 69, of Hattiesburg, who died December 5 at Wesley Medical Center. Burial will follow in Pinehaven Cemetery. Mr. Marks was a retired transit operator and Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jonus and Lilly May Marks, three sisters and three brothers. Survivors include his wife, Geneva Grissom Marks of Hattiesburg; five children, Thomas J. Marks Jr. of Long Beach, California, Byron Marks Rancho Cucamonga, California; Nelson Grissom, III of Bray, California, Carol Chavez of Long Beach, California and Yolanda M. Wright of North Las Vegas, Nevada; a brother, Richard Marvin Marks of Dallas, Texas; and eleven grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday prior to the service beginning at 12 p.m. at the church. Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg is in charge of arrangements.
